This month marks a significant milestone for International Shipping News. On April 24, 1996, while serving the maritime industry in Houston, Texas, I registered this domain to share technical insights and global logistics news. Today, 30 years later, we bring this project home to Norway to bridge the legends of our industry’s past with the technology of its future.
The Legacy of aajs.com
Back in 1996, the maritime industry relied on faxes and paper ledgers. This site was pioneered to explore how the emerging “World Wide Web” could transform shipyard management and global reporting. As a Naval Architect and former CEO of shipyards in Norway and the USA, my goal was to provide a professional, digital workplace tool for an industry built on steel and engineering.
