Strategic Hubs & Infrastructure Oversight
AAJS provides deep-technical oversight for vessel turnarounds across the primary Norwegian and North Sea hubs. From the specialized subsea and offshore requirements in the expansive Karmsund port network to the high-volume bulk terminals in Narvik, we bridge the gap between shipowners and local terminal realities. Understanding specific draft restrictions and pier-side amenities before arrival is the difference between a seamless call and costly demurrage.
Tanker & Bulk Terminal Coordination
Our database tracks the operational capabilities of major liquid and dry bulk terminals. We monitor storage capacity, pumping rates, and bunkering availability (VLSFO/MGO) at key installations. By providing real-time intelligence on berth congestion and seasonal weather impacts—particularly in the Atlantic corridors—we ensure logistics planners have a realistic window for vessel performance.
As of May 13, 2026, bunkering availability for VLSFO/MGO is becoming increasingly tight across North Sea hubs, and logistics planners must account for both increased security protocols and growing berth delays currently affecting turnarounds.
Integrated Port Services
Beyond the berth, AAJS coordinates the essential link between the ship and the shore. This includes technical liaison with terminal engineers, synchronizing fuel delivery with port stay windows, and managing the supply chain through Norwegian customs and local transport networks. This evolution from the ‘Maritime Net Magazine’ ensures our port data is not just historical, but actionable for 21st-century fleet optimization.
Current Terminal Status (May 13, 2026):
- Karmsund Havn (Haugesund Region Hub):
Haugesund Cargo Terminals (Husøy): Fully operational. Yard expansion up to 100,000 square meters is progressing efficiently; container, ro-ro, and project cargo flows are moving with standard turnaround windows.
Haugesund Cruise Port (Garpeskjær): High traffic watch. Multi-vessel cruise calls are active today (including large vessels up to 348m); central berths are occupied, but regional maritime transit corridors remain completely fluid.
- Narvik: High-volume bulk congestion; expect 12-18 hour berth delays.
- Atlantic Corridors: Elevated security oversight in effect; verify all pier-side amenities 48h prior to arrival.
