

A fire broke out on a cargo ship laden with ore, docked at the Romanian Port of Midia, north of Constanta, on August 21, 2026.
According to sources, ISU Constanța sent 5 fire engines, specialised CBRN units and ladder trucks along with medical teams to the site of the accident.
However, by the time the firefighters arrived, the blaze had spread considerably and engulfed the ship’s stern, which was almost entirely burnt.
